The sketches and process photos below capture both the hidden joy and struggle involved in the creation of my vessels. Process images are, in a way, the footprints of a vessel as it approaches your table. However, each piece rarely turns out identical to its original sketch; the few precious seconds a vessel stays submerged in a glaze bucket, or the firing settings in a kiln, can drastically change the visual effects. The process photos below, though, are unvarnished and informative – visual reminders that will guide me later on.
