for your table
My platters and bowls are painted with underglaze on leather hard clay, straying away from the typical decorating process. Painting on clay before it is bisqued has a unique effect because of the wonderful absorbency of the surface and the immediacy of the process. It’s true that potters learn to see with their fingers – my fingers still remember the form of each bowl right after it comes off the wheel. Painting on its surface happens naturally and in the moment.
