Handmade ceramic plates can transform an everyday meal into a quiet feast. Wheel-thrown pottery is grounding, taking us back to simpler times when beauty was all around us. That is the simple reason why chefs prefer using ceramic dinnerware for serving and photographing their culinary projects. My “Movable Feast” collection, tested in my own studio and kitchen, is inspired by this idea. Every nutritionist's advice is to look for foods with ingredients that your grandmother would have recognized; ceramic dinnerware has revealed itself as one of those simple ingredients so desirable in our fast-paced, digital world. For me, this mantra has an double meaning: my grandmother was a potter by trade, while also cooking traditional dishes at home throughout my entire childhood.
